GRIEF AND PLEASURE

„Grief and Pleasure“, an intervention in houses in Eskishehir. Presented in the museum OMM.

Dorner choreographs site-specific performances in various countries with the participation of local dancers, artists and performers alongside the public. The performers occupy surfaces that are commonly overlooked, such as door entrances, gaps, recesses and stairs. As part of this exhibition Dorner orchestrates performances around Eskişehir, which redefine the historic houses unique to the region, as well as the social and cultural aspects of home living, through bodily interventions. Enabling a shared experience with city dwellers, Dorner’s work questions the ways in which we relate to the environment, the city and architecture, while expanding the often limited range of movement within urban life.
