INSTALLATION SPORTSPALACE VILNIUS IN THE FRAME OF OPEN HOUSE VILNIUS, 2020
In 2020 Open House Vilnius focuses on the topic of Building Narratives and will look for tools to (re)create our built environment while reading, telling and creating different
stories about it.
Within this context the festival will present a series of visual narratives about the city’s late modernism architecture, which is usually undervalued, abandoned or even facing irreversible changes.
The artistic documentation, of one of the modernism gems in Vilnius - the Sport's Palace (1971) -
is the focus of our art-project. Willi Dorner's choreographic elements, coming from the bodies in urban spaces - project (performed in Vilnius 2018), is the key to humanize this building to unlock its unique
story.
The large format prints are mounted on the facade of the building and will stay there until the
building gets remodeled.
