Lisa Rastl
lives and works in Vienna

Lisa Rastl-Dorner works as an artist and photographer. She trained as a photographer at the Higher Federal Teaching and Research Institute for Graphic Arts in Vienna and, after completing her master's examination, attended the Friedl Kubelka School for Artistic Photography. A few years later, she studied fine art/textual sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Heimo Zobernig.
After 10 years as a museum photographer at mumok, she now works independently as a photographer for various art institutions, artists, art collections and architecture firms. She has been working closely with the artist and choreographer Willi Dorner for many years.
Her many years of work as a reproduction and object photographer and the associated questions on topics such as authorship and copyright, the role of photography as a reproduction medium, and the relationship between original and copy became the driving force behind her artistic practice. In 2021, together with Claudia Rohrauer, she established and heads the Analogue Photography Workshop at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
